15年の歳月をクロスカントリーと共に
歩み続けました。そして21世紀、
モータースポーツの新しい夢を語りたい。
心から、そう思います。
私たちSSER ORGANISATIONは1985年4月の設立以来15年の歳月を歩んで参りました。そしてその間どれほど多くのイベントを開催して来た事でしょう。確かにこの15年間で日本のオフロードモーターサイクルシーンは変化を遂げて参りました。スキルもテクノロジーも相当に向上した事は紛れもない事実として胸を張れるものです。私たち主催団体も、ある時にはパリ・ダカールをはじめとする海外クロスカントリーラリーイベントにも出場し、また自らもモンゴルでラリーを開催するという困難にも挑戦して参りました。何がそこまで歩いて行く原動力になるのでしょうか。その答えは簡単です。それは｢夢の力｣なのです。私たちは、いっぱいの夢をたくさん抱えた人達の集まりだと思っています。そのたくさんの夢の持つエネルギーで夜空を渡る船のごとく、宇宙の大海原に漕ぎ出している。そんな感じだと言えば理解して頂けるでしょうか。
今、地球環境も社会の仕組を含めた環境面でも、大きな岐路に差しかかっています。例えばラリー中に出会った大きな分岐点がそうです。自分は今、どこに居るのか。どこから来て、どこへ行こうとしているのか。分からなければどっちへ行けば良いのか迷ってしまいます。また、その分岐の位置すら、間違っているのではないか、という疑問(不安)に晒されてしまうでしょう。おそらく相当、ドキドキでしょうね。仮に今の日本がそうだとしたら、私たちは｢そうか！｣と身を処する術を知っているかもしれませんね。目標(ゴール)をしっかりと見据えて、自分は今どこに居るのかをしっかりと知ってナビゲーションして行くこと。そうクロスカントリーラリーって実はライフスクールであり人生そのものなんだと気付く訳なのです(これは実はティエリー･サビーヌのコトバです。)私たちが提案したちっぽけなクロスカントリーラリーのイベントのひとつひとつが、そういった輝きを持って参加される皆様の心に届くように。この15周年と2000年という節目に、もう1度頑張ってそんな夢あふれるクロスカントリーの現場を作り続けよう、歩み続けよう、そう決めました。
どうかこれからのSSERを、よろしくお願いします。
We of the SSER ORGANISATION have been walking this path for 15 years, since our establishment in April 1985. During this time, our organization has held so many events. Certainly, the off-road motorcycle scene in Japan has changed during these 15 years. We can feel pride in the indisputable fact that both skills and technology have been improved considerably. We are a sponsoring organization and also appear ourselves in overseas cross-country rally events such as the Paris-Dakar rally. We have even taken on the challenge of appearing ourselves in the Mongolia rally that we hold. What is the fuel for this activity? The answer is simple. It is the "power of dreams". We consider ourselves an assembly of people all holding many dreams. This energy of many dreams rises out into the great ocean of space. If we say that that is what it feels like, you understand, don't you?
Now, the global environment is at a major crossroads in the aspect of the environment including social organizations. For example, major branch points encountered in the rally are like this. Where am I now? Where did I come from and where am I going? If I do not know, then I am confused about where I should go. Also, doubt bubbles up that perhaps, from the position of this branching point, I am mistaken.
This all creates much excitement, does it not? If today's Japan was like this, we might know the technique for "eureka". Navigation requires that we keep the goal firmly in sight and reliably know where we are now. Actually, cross-country rallies are a lifestyle actually, we notice that cross-country rallies are a lifestyle, and life itself. (These are actually the words of Terry Sabine.) The individual cross-country rally events that we propose are to reach into the hearts of all of you who participate so brilliantly. We commemorate the milestones of the 15th anniversary and the year 2000 by resolving to continue down our path, to strive again and continue preparing sites for cross-country rallies suffused with our dreams. We are counting on your support for the future of the SSER.
