In our early days around 1998, we tried to extend route to the south Gobi, end of the earth for logistics. Test run team ran through dried-up river to the field. Unobstructed brown ground was there. In contrast, they saw a haze on the far right. Mirage or a forest? They turend the steering wheel to the right. Beilieve it or not, no wheel track in front of therm. There was a forest for a while. Clear water springs out of a small well. Forest trees overcame wind and snow for hundreds of years. Since then Rally Mongolia often made a bivouac at that place. Gaston Rahier and Raymond Loiseau used to enjoy a stay.
In 2025, we stand for “The Classic” and we have decided to go there even there is a difficulty about a catering meal and a refuel.
Dinosaur Valley, overwhelmed great plain, and Sugawara Pass are waiting for you.
