FA-coat Rally Mongolia 2024
General Comment
The earth that surrounds us is also an environment. This tournament was like experiencing the front line of that.
The rain fell in a way that had never been seen in the 30 years that the event has been held. The true nature of the rain clouds that cover the entire country of Mongolia, which is four times the size of Japan’s land area, was discussed and dealt with at the tournament headquarters every day.
This time, we welcomed wonderful participants from five countries: Japan, Mongolia, South Korea, China, and Slovenia. The performance of NAKAHARA Ryoji (graduate student), who navigated the #103 Nakahara father-son team, who navigated Rally Mongolia, which is said to be complex, with almost no mistakes, is particularly noteworthy. At the closing ceremony, the words of a modern young person left an impression on the rally: “I thought rallies were boring, but when I tried them, I found them to be fun. Next time, I want to aim for the win with the SXS.”
The overall winner was Toni Mirec of Slovenia, who struggled with navigation in the early stages, but his speed and pursuit were amazing. On his map, the CAPs of all the pieces were handwritten in large letters, showing how he fought with navigation.
Although the number of participants was small, the content was more intense than ever before. After the rally, the blue sky, known as Mongolian blue, returned every day. The grasslands quietly changed into autumn attire.

ETAP-7 Report

The final day of ETAP7 has finally begun. Athletes race through the harshest conditions ever to reach the finish line. Although there have been occasional rains in this semi-arid region, this was the first time in the 30 years that the event had been held that we had experienced such continuous conditions. Rally is a sport where you fight against all kinds of weather, and you have to overcome it. The participants exemplified this goal in person, and a provisional awards ceremony will be held near the new airport in the afternoon.
